HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – After making an appearance in the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2015, James Madison women’s soccer has unveiled its 2024 schedule, as announced by head coach Joshua Walters, Sr. on Thursday morning.

“We are very excited about this year’s schedule,” Walters said. “As usual, I want to give us an opportunity to fight for an NCAA at-large bid by scheduling games that are a challenge. I can’t wait to see our fans out at some of the fantastic home games we have this year. Can it be fall already?”

JMU will be playing an 18-match slate with half of the matches taking place at Sentara Park

The Dukes will kick off the season on the road as they travel to Villanova on Aug. 15. Four of the next five matches will take place in the Friendly City, with a match at Maryland on Aug. 25 sandwiched in between. After returning from Villanova, the Dukes will welcome Virginia Tech and La Salle to Sentara Park on Aug. 18 and Aug. 22, respectively. JMU will host Kent State (Aug. 29) and Virginia (Sept. 1) as part of the Fairfield by Marriott Invitational to conclude the five-match stretch.

Capping off the non-conference slate will be a pair of away matches, heading to West Virginia on Sept. 5 before traveling south to East Carolina on Sept. 15.

Sun Belt Conference play begins on Sept. 21 when Southern Miss comes to town. The Dukes will also host two-time defending champion Old Dominion (Sept. 29), Georgia State (Oct. 9), App State (Oct. 18) and Arkansas State (Oct. 24).

The Dukes will hit the road for a Sun Belt match for the first time in 2024 on Sept. 26 as they head to Coastal Carolina. Road league matches for the Dukes also feature ULM (Oct. 4), Georgia Southern (Oct. 13) and Marshall (Oct. 27) before concluding the regular-season at South Alabama on Oct. 30.

Once again being played in Foley, Ala., the Sun Belt Championship will be held from Nov. 3-10 at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex. The first round will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, followed by the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Nov. 5, the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 7 and the championship on Saturday, Nov. 10.
